 The SPA Foundation’s 501(c)(3) designation provides tax-deductable status for donor contributions, provides a preferred, favorable platform to earn grant funding, and facilitates an extremely efficient utilization of financial resources. With staff and other costly infrastructure shared directly with the corporate offices of The Seaplane Pilots Association, the SPA Foundation is able to apply an extraordinarily high percentage of its resources directly to accomplishing its mission.
Although there are joint members to provide continuity between organizations, SPA and the SPA Foundation are independent corporations with separate boards.
